Veronica is a 1997 graduate of Fitchburg State College where she earned her bachelors degree in nursing. In 2005, she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Veronica has been working in the field of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases since 2005 when she joined Dr. Philip’s staff. Veronica is fluent in Portuguese.

Randy Averback, MD
Dr. Averback graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Upon her graduation she completed her post graduate training at West Roxbury VA Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard School of Public Health – Epidemiology. Dr. Averback is board certified in cardiovascular disease. Dr. Averback has practiced for 20 years and has treated patients with heart failure, coronary disease, atrial fibrillation, valvular disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol control, obesity and heart disease in women. She is active at both Fall River’s St. Anne’s Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Bassaly is graduate of Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo. Upon her graduation from medical school, Dr. Bassaly completed her internship and residency at Ain Shams University Hospitals, Arabian American Oil Company Hospitals and Pawtucket Memorial Hospital . Sarah Bednarz is Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the office of Dr. Bianca Thorpe at Prima CARE. She is a native of southeastern Massachusetts and is dedicated to the health of her community. Ms. Bednarz began her medical career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Audiology Technician before earning a Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital and Hawthorn Medical Associates for several years before earning a Master of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (MCPHS). Ms. Bednarz cares for patients of all ages, focusing on wellness and preventive medicine as well as managing chronic and acute medical conditions. She sees outpatients in the office of Dr. Bianca Thorpe on the main Prima CARE campus and, as an affiliate of the Steward Health Care Network, admits her patients to Saint Anne’s Hospital.
